Happy 2nd Birthday, Zach!

Happy, happy birthday! May the Lord and Mama Mary bless you with the best of health and always keep you safe. Thank you so much for filling our home with so much love and laughter.

I am working on being a "hands-on" mom to you and Ate. I promise to spend more time with you, reading books to you and putting you to sleep (so that you will not choose Yaya over me). Haha.

Here's to more Thomas and Friends toys, Barney DVDs, balls to shoot, diaperless and shirtless days and more time to enjoy the water, the sun, the sea and the sand.

as i have written in one of my entries, i am spending two weeks with M and the kids in my hometown in Surigao del Sur. we are taking PAL's flight to Butuan tomorrow then it's a 4-hour land trip to our town. as much as possible, i want to be offline again so i can get lots of sleep (hehe) and be recharged for work when i get back.

zach is turning 2 years old on tuesday, april 21st. my folks are throwing a BIG party for him. it's also his first time in our town. my only wish is that you please include him in your prayers that he will always be healthy and strong. it breaks my heart when he has asthma attacks after running around. it's so hard to stop kids from being physically active!

that is how i will be, starting tomorrow. i am hitting the beautiful beaches of bantayan and i want to enjoy every minute of my vacation away from the city.

again, i wish everyone a meaningful and a blessed Holy Week. happy Easter, too! i already mailed my Easter cards for some special relatives and friends :)

logging off now. have work 10 hours from now, my last shift for the month. yipee doodle doo!!!

little things that made me smile (today)

* a day off at the most perfect time. i have a really bad dysmenorrhea today, good thing i'm off today. and tomorrow.

* a pretty pedicure. finally, after 2 weeks =)

* time spent at my happy place with marti. zach had to stay home because he was feverish this morning.

* 2-pc chicken (original recipe) from KFC

* finally buying all the groceries and stuff we need for Bantayan

* "discovering" a photocopying center near our apartment just when i needed to have some important docs photocopied. funny but i was really amazed there's one here and their copy is so clear.

* finding out that i passed the important metrics for march

counting the days

every year, we go "home" to Bantayan Island but since i gave birth to marti and zach, our trip there had not been that regular or often. 4 days from now, we will be visiting the beautiful island again and we are all excited about it we can hardly sleep :)

since Holy Week is the only peak season there, beach resorts will be quite expensive and fully booked. we have decided to just stay at minoy's place. i don't mind, we can still go to the beautiful white-sand beaches in sta. fe, eat the freshest of seafood (i am already salivating at the thought of binga, sikad-sikad and saang) and the unsalted dried pusit and danggit and have a sip of fresh buko juice anytime during our 7-day stay there. we are so excited, i am praying everything will be well. i remember last year when we planned to go there and zach got sick!

another thing i like most about bantayan is their observance of Holy Week. everyone takes time out from fishing or whatever it is that they are doing and joins the procession on Good Friday and all the other activities everyday that week. i already told minoy to drive me to the poblacion for the activities.

i've already bought some swimsuits (i had a hard time looking for plus sizes) and everything else we need. my biggest problem is i have gained weight since i bought my swim wear. tomorrow and friday being my days off, i will finish buying all the stuff for zach and marti's party there and some groceries.
