glad it's one of those Sundays when i get to hear mass. thank God! i didn't give in to temptation of just staying home, laze around and make myself fatter. after all, there's just too many things to thank God for, one of which is my sister's safe travel back to Qatar.
i'm thinking of a lot of things right this very moment.
* i like my job but the split rest days we've been having since the past weeks are making me tired and with the passing score for major metrics getting harder, i'm thinking of quitting. or i should wait 'til i get terminated for not passing the monthly scorecard. haha.
* i can't understand why some people can't understand that a simple text or return call is all i need when i've been waiting and been texting and calling them more than 5 times. and they tell me i'm impatient and bratty. and that i should just have taken a taxi than wait for them. and this has happened several times already and they just tell you "what did you lose when i didn't answer your call or text? " please, teach me how to be patient in other ways. nag cellphone pa ka!
* i'm starting to get excited planning for Marti's 4th birthday. now that she's a bit big enough not to be afraid of mascots, she wants a jollibee birthday party. i promised her that she can have it. last month, the hub suggested that she will just have the party in school with Jollibee food minus the mascot. being the good girl that she is, she agreed. i guess what matters to them is the thought that they will have a party. although i'm fine with that, i'm also thinking that i still want to stick to the original plan of having it at a Jollibee store because 1) Jollibee will be there and Marti and Zach and most kids love Jollibee, 2) i won't be able to invite my relatives and friends and their kids if it's going to be in school and 3) i want a party with games and prizes and pabitins and piñatas which i can't do in school. i'm sure this will be an issue with the hub because to be practical about it, holding it in school (with only two teachers and 11 classmates) really means lesser expense. we'll see, we'll see. but i'll start saving up for it already and will inquire from Jollibee tomorrow. and will buy some party stuff from SM on their mall-wide 3-day sale that will start this Friday. haha.
* it's interesting to read Marti's N2 lessons. i am learning. i am just surprised and amazed that what i learned in my public elementary school, Marti's already learning them now at the nursery level. sometimes i would think it may be too much for her but then again, all private pre-schools all have the same lessons now. but i'm still bothered why at N2, there is already addition in their Math subject.
* i hate the thought (or fact) that i no longer have strong self-discipline. the more i think about losing weight and getting healthy and fit, the bigger i get everyday. maybe i should stop thinking and just do it.

random stuff
i have been so drained at work the past days, i wasn't able to write a birthday post for Kaith. but i was able to have lunch with her on her birthday and gave her my gift.
happy birthday again, kaith! thanks so much for always being there for me. you're one of the best friends anyone could ever have. God bless you more.
as i have mentioned in my previous post, i have decided to go back to the gym because i'm getting heavier and unhealthier each day. i started july 1st. it feels good. yesterday was purely cardio day. and i'm glad i also didn't eat as much as i used to. i don't want to make sudden changes, they might overwhelm me and i'll quit.
yesterday, i beat the deadline for the internal job posting at convergys. yes, i applied for the employee engagement specialist position. i have always wanted to be in HR department and this is the most perfect time. i believe i have more than what it takes to be in that position but of course there are also a lot of qualified applicants. please help me pray i'll get the job.
i've read somewhere that we should not be afraid to do something new. yesterday morning, i saw a post in the office that the soccer club of convergys are inviting more ladies to join. it got me interested and i really want to try it. growing up, we were not into any sports and i feel it's never too late to get into one. thing is i am not physically prepared for it ( and even the hub says so, based on how sedentary my life has been). maybe a few months from now, after i have exercised enough and will be flexible enough.
i was supposed to have a friday night-out with the hub and sis (who's here on vacation), today being my rest day. but after i took a shower in the gym, i felt so sleepy and tired. i know i'm really not over the exhaustion at work yet. hoping for better days ahead. but marti and i had to do her assignments.
i spent the whole day today accompanying my sis in the salon (which made me think of getting my hair dyed), doing the groceries, driving the hub to his basketball game, buying mcdo's happy meal for the kids and worrying why marti's fever is back.
i am looking forward to my gym session tomorrow after work. i'm quite worried it might not be possible because the hub is going home to bantayan for an aunt's interment and it's the yayas' day off.
logging off now. i have work 6 hours from now.

at the homefront
today is the first day of classes of Zach's yaya at the Asian College of Technology. classes start at 6 PM and end at 10 PM. same schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays. she was supposed to have classes on Saturdays and Sundays but we thought it's too much so i personally went to the school last Saturday (despite being so sleepy after my shift) to have those two non-academic subjects removed from her study load. i was actually shocked PE 1 classes are held on Sundays and for 4 hours at that!
our dearest Marti starts school on Wednesday, June 17th. i am both excited and scared. excited because this school year marks the beginning of "real" school for her and i now have a student. and scared that she might think it's still mostly play (like her playgroup class). i'm scared, too because there will already be reading and writing assignments which i need to do with her. i remember my older sis who used to work with her kids on their assignments every night and almost always lost her patience. i know i am a lot like her, even more impatient than her. now i wish tita teacher stella's with us. but then again, isn't that one of the challenges every parent has? here's another thing. i told myself not to think about class ranking or that honor roll stuff so as not to put pressure on Marti but i think it's easier said because i've always been competitive in school and i always wanted to be on top. at least up until high school. hahaha.
it's father's day on Sunday, June 21st. as early as last month, i already made plans and booked an overnight stay somewhere. but sometime last week, there was some petty fight and i'm no longer in the mood to go anywhere, but the thing is my own dad arrived a few days ago and so i really have to come up with something. i guess we will cancel the overnight stay and just hit the beach with the whole family.
i am still adjusting to this 12 AM shift. well, i haven't been sick but i think i look less prettier (haha) now. the really bad thing about it is i fall asleep at work and it's a big no-no. what i like about this shift, though, is i will get to drive and accompany Marti to school. i will see this week how it will go and make my daily IT. right now, i am confused whether i should sleep from 9 to 10:30 and bring her to school or i should wait 'til i've brought her to school and sleep right after. another thing i'm thinking of doing after my shift and while waiting for Marti to get ready is go to the gym. we'll see, we'll see.

irresistible deals
my cousin's cousin who works for l'oreal posted this announcement at friendster: L'OREAL PROFESSIONNEL is launching its newest hair straightening/hair rebonding product called X-TENSO MOISTURIST with a Malaysian GUEST ARTIST. We NEED females out there who want to have their hair rebonded/straightened as models, at a very affordable price, since it's happening on a launching. just PM me here if you're interested. i immediately sent her a message to count me in. my mom and i have tried being their "models" before for one of their hair color products...you wouldn't believe it but this very affordable price she's talking about is only P500! if you will have the X-tenso at salon de rose or david's, it will cost you at least 6K. unfortunately for me, i will be working during the only available time slot left. apparently, a LOT of girls signed up as soon as they advertised. huhuhu.
i've been asking around for the less pricey gym memberships. years back, i went to fitness advantage (now CITIGYM) at the waterfront hotel. i like it there because i felt "at home" and you get to use the pool and enjoy discounts at the hotel's different outlets. their membership rates are quite high now but they have this special deal for moms (when you enroll this month) where you pay 13K for a 6-month membership plus 2 months free so that would be a total of 8 months for 13K. as of this morning, i was already 99.5% decided to enroll.
the hub asked me to make a reservation for badminton at holiday spa and gym in banilad. out of curiosity (i've been thinking of trying another gym), i inquired about their rates and was told that they also have a special promo exclusively for moms this month. a 6-month membership comes with 2 months free and costs 8K while a 12-month program comes with 4 months free and is only 15K . that's only P937.50 a month. it also includes free use of the pool plus a 20% discount on their massage services and badminton. me thinks it's a good deal because we will also be playing badminton twice a week and the hub and i sometimes have our massage there. as of this writing, i am 100% decided to try holiday spa for a year. and as i have been saying lately, i resolve to be serious about this whole getting-healthy-and-fit thing.

booked
just got home from PAL ticket office. we already bought our plane tickets to and from Butuan. i originally reserved all of us for the lowest-priced fare available through phone @ P2,229/person round trip but was glad to find out at the ticket office that there were still 4 available slots for a much lower fare (P1,119). and i won't be paying full for my almost-two zachy boy, just 10% (P190). he won't get a seat, though but it's perfectly fine.

excited
if you see me smiling these days, it's because i can't contain my excitement over my one-month leave of absence. yes, ONE MONTH. that would be without pay but it's fine as long as i can spend two weeks in my hometown in Surigao after 3 years that i haven't been there. i booked our plane tickets today with PAL. we will be taking the Cebu-Butuan flight then enjoy a quite-bumpy land trip to Tago.
before that, we will be spending one week in the beautiful Bantayan Island starting on Sunday before Holy Week and ending on Easter Sunday. i've already bought my swimming outfit, sunblock and suntanning lotions, the kids' inflatable stuff and a whole lot more.
zach will have a simple advance birthday celebration in Bantayan and will spend his 2nd birthday on April 21 in Tago. my folks are uber excited, they even offered to "sponsor" the party.
excited...excited...to the highest level!
leen, sorry, ako diay ang wala inig ari nimo sa april...
