"political career"

when i went to my hometown in Surigao (del Sur) in April to spend summer there with my family, i was able to attend my high school alma mater's alumni homecoming. just like any homecoming, i went there to re-connect with my HS classmates and schoolmates. and just like that, i got elected President of the alumni association. although i so wanted to decline, i also didn't want to hurt them by doing so AND i didn't want to be OA or maarte. i'm too old for that! =) and so, that marks the beginning of my "political career".

two weeks after the son's classes started, the pre-school head wanted to see me. i thought the li'l boy was in trouble! it turned out that she just wanted to inform me that the school chose me (and the hubby) to be one of the parent-coordinators for the Nursery level. hmmmm...that makes me a busy SAHM. :)

AND just last week during the parents' assembly at the daughter's (big) school, i also got elected class rep for Prep! now, this school year is definitely a busy one for me.

it makes me wonder if i've been chosen based on my capability or simply because they know that i am not working and so i have all the time to attend meetings, coordinate with other parents and officers and handle some of each school's activities and programs. well, whatever their reason is for choosing/electing me, i am hoping i will do well and not disappoint them and my children. :)

the hubby joked that maybe the next time i go home to Surigao, i'll be elected barangay captain OR mayor! LOL.
